Shades of The World

In the stillness where I sometimes go

To the darkest of places, where reality glows

I wander through the night’s embrace

And see the world’s unforgiving face

Whispered truths, abundant despair

Somber songs dancing through the air

Harrowing insight my heart won’t accept

Beneath the facade, truth must intercept 

The world’s cruelty becomes so clear

Infested with ignorance fueled by fear 

In this void where the bleak world reigns

I can find comfort amongst the pain
